Terms of Use
Last updated: October 17, 2026
These terms apply to Saymily (formerly Kotone), provided by kohagura maimu (“we”), from version 2.0 onward.
1. License and eligibility
The Apple Standard EULA governs the software license. These terms supplement it with app-specific conditions. Mandatory law and your statutory consumer rights take precedence. If you are a minor, obtain parental or legal guardian consent where required, including for purchases.
2. What the app provides
Saymily lets you select or write affirmations, record your voice, play recordings or iOS text-to-speech with music, choose backgrounds or add photos, record your mood and notes, and schedule reminders. Availability depends on the app version, device, OS, permissions and purchase status.
The app supports personal reflection and habits. It does not provide medical care, psychological treatment, diagnosis or professional advice. Affirmations are examples of personal statements, not promises about health, income, relationships or achievement. Skip any statement that does not suit you, and stop if using the app causes discomfort. Use a safe listening volume and avoid interacting with it while driving or doing activities requiring attention.
3. Purchases and trials
After the introductory experience, continued access to the main app requires an active subscription or an eligible lifetime purchase. Available plans, features, taxes, currency, prices, billing periods and trial terms are shown in the app and the App Store before purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled, with billing through your Apple Account.
- Trials are available only when Apple determines that you are eligible. They are not available to everyone or on every purchase. If you are ineligible, the regular terms shown at checkout apply.
- At the end of a trial, the displayed paid subscription begins automatically unless canceled. To avoid renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, following Apple’s instructions.
- Manage cancellation in iPhone Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Apple shows the date access ends.
- Lifetime access is a one-time purchase of the covered features with no recurring charge. It is not a promise to operate the service forever or to include every future product sold separately.
- Eligible lifetime purchases made in Kotone remain valid and can be restored using the same Apple Account.
Purchase verification and restoration require an internet connection. Retry if verification fails. Request refunds through Apple; eligibility is governed by Apple’s rules and applicable law. Nothing here removes statutory refund or withdrawal rights.
4. Local data
Affirmations, tags, recordings, added photos, mood entries, notes, listening history and settings are primarily stored on your device. We do not provide our own cloud synchronization or backup service. OS backups depend on your settings and Apple’s services. Uninstalling the app or losing, resetting or damaging a device may cause data loss. Restoring purchases restores access, not recordings or notes. Subscription expiry alone does not automatically delete local data, but access to paid features is restricted.
5. Your content and prohibited use
You or the original rights holder retain the rights to your text, recordings and photos. We do not take ownership of them. Use only content you have the right to use. Do not infringe others’ rights, gain unauthorized access, obtain paid access fraudulently or disrupt the service. These restrictions do not prohibit activities permitted by applicable law.
6. App content
Software, designs, supplied images, audio and text belong to us or their lawful rights holders. Use them personally through the app. Extraction, sale or redistribution is not permitted unless allowed by law or the relevant license. Third-party materials remain subject to their stated licenses.
7. Privacy
See our Privacy Policy for information about local storage, purchase services and usage analytics.
8. Changes and availability
We may change or interrupt features for maintenance, safety, improvements or legal compliance. Material changes to paid features or service closure will be announced with reasonable notice except in emergencies, and handled according to applicable law and Apple’s procedures. Changes to these terms will follow applicable requirements for notice, effective dates and consent.
9. Responsibility
We do not guarantee specific outcomes or uninterrupted, error-free operation in every environment. Our liability is governed by applicable law. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or injury where protected by law.
10. Law and contact
Japanese law applies, without removing mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Disputes are handled by courts with jurisdiction under applicable law.
Contact: [email protected]. See our commercial disclosure for sales information. Japanese and English versions are provided; neither limits mandatory local rights.
